Bayliner Boats - Marina Management Courses
Hi gang, Rick Ostler here from North American Waterway bringing you Bayliner Boats along with news and views from the boating industry. Information out of the International Marina Institute.
We are pleased to announce that the registration for all courses and events offered through the International Marina Institute (IMI), a subsidiary of the Association of Marina Industries (AMI), can now be completed and submitted online.
These courses include popular programs such as “Intermediate Marina Management” (IMM), “Advanced Marina Management” (AMM), and the “Marine Service Manager’s” (MSM) school—co-produced with the American Boat Builders and Repairers Association (ABBRA). These applications can all be accessed by visiting the AMI website, www.marinaassociation.org through the Upcoming IMI Training Opportunities tab on the home page.
Applications for “Certified Marina Manager” (CMM) candidates may also be completed and submitted online.
This new system offers a time saving option for those who find the previous method of handwriting and printing the 15-page application cumbersome. The application is extremely user friendly and allows the candidates the option of completing it over the course of time and unlimited updates before submission for review. The application can be accessed by going to the AMI home page through the Learn more about CMM Certification tab. The new online system not only saves time for the applicants but it also allows AMI to maintain CMM applications electronically for forwarding to the CMM review committee. This will significantly help to expedite the review and approval process.
AMI has also developed applications for its IMI training courses in the form of writeable and savable PDF’s for those who prefer to access their applications this way. These applications are also available on the AMI website under their respective training programs. Applicants can still mail or fax their applications to: AMI, 50 Water Street, Warren, RI 02885, or fax to 401-247-0074, if preferred.
Registration for IMI’s 8th annual Drystack Conference, scheduled for October 26-28 2008, at the Marriott West Palm Beach, in West Palm Beach Florida, may also be completed online.
The conference brings together marina professionals from around the globe to examine the latest information on design and techniques used in drystack storage. The conference also offers a diverse exhibition hall where vendors will provide a wide array of products and services designed to help support marina construction and expansion projects. Online registration for the Drystack Conference can be accessed through the AMI website, as well.
The International Marina Institute (IMI) has been training and certifying marina personnel for more than 15 years. Over 220 managers, representing some of the top marinas in the world, have successfully completed IMI’s Certified Marina Manager program. IMI courses and conferences span the globe, including Italy, Australia, England, and regions across the United States.
The Association of Marina Industries (AMI) is a non-profit membership organization that provides management training, education, and information about research, legislation, and environmental issues affecting the marina industry.
