Pontoon Boating on Table Rock Lake
Dear Blog,
We went to Table Rock Lake and Uncle Chuck rented a pontoon boat that we could all ride on. Once we were out of the no wake zone we gunned it and found a calm spot. I got onto the tube that was tied onto the back of the boat.
The tube ride was a very bumpy and I almost fell out a couple of times. I rode on the tube twice. Everyone in the group except Uncle Chuck and Aunt Amy rode on the tube. My mom and Chris fell off the tube when they were riding on it.
After a bunch of fun rides, we headed for the marina to eat lunch. My dad took me to the boathouse to get a fishing rod. I did not do any serious fishing I just practiced casting the line out into the water. A couple of people in our boat decided to go for a swim including me.
After that we drove the boat back to the marina and headed back to the lodge.
Cheers,
Memorial Day Weekend Busy on Madison Lakes
MADISON (WKOW) – The unofficial start to summer had many people getting their boats out for the summer season and soaking in some sun.
The Madison School and Community Recreation held an open house at the Tenney Locks where you could get a free ride on a pontoon boat. The Tenney Park Lock to the lakes will be limiting its hours to save money.
Starting this week, boats will not be able to use the Tenney Park Lock to get from Lake Mendota to lakes Monona and Waubesa as part of a cost saving measure.
The Dane County Parks Department will not be staffing the lock on Mondays, Tuesday and Wednesdays. Its a move they say will save them $5,000 over the summer. It will be open Thursday through Sunday and holidays, which means it will be open Memorial Day.
